Digital Storytelling

Wow!  We are working hard to draft, edit, revise, and publish our digital stories!

Robert Munsch has inspired many of my first grade writers in February!

Here's a look at one of our finished projects from today!

(You will need to turn the volume up.)

To complete this project, the student worked through several steps in the writing process.   The process started with the student writing his own "loose tooth" story in a "draft" book.  After writing and illustrating this story with a beginning, middle, and an ending, the student signed up for a conference to edit his written work with me.  After editing the work, the student revised the work to make any additional changes.  Once the changes were completed, the student used his final draft to record his story using Audacity.  The student also used a digital camera to capture four digital images of his work.  Finally, the student met with me a second time to upload pictures and to publish the work in video format!  Digital Storytelling allows the writing process to come alive!

Happy Writing!

  1. I LOVE this! Thanks for sharing. I think I'll try this using my Sonic pics app. Or maybe it could be turned into a podcast? Hmm, so many options....

  3. How wonderful that you got to do this with your students. I loved when my Tatter Tots made their digital stories. If your interested I also posted about digital storytelling on my blog.
